Hello, my name is Tina Taylor and I was born in Prescott Arizona where I met my husband, Chris. After Chris graduated from college. We moved a few times for different jobs, Southern California, Oregon, then back to Arizona where we had our first son Jacob.

In October 1994 we moved to Washington where I worked at a car dealership and Chris started a remodeling business. Two months after I started my job Jacob got the chickenpox. I had to leave work to pick him up from daycare. The next day the dealership fired me without explanation, though they had recently found out I was pregnant.

Being pregnant, without a job, or benefits, I went to work for my aunt as a caregiver. My mother was the manager and caregiver at the adult family home.

This was my first experience caring for the elderly. Changing briefs, giving showers, shaving, and comforting clients, with dementia, was quite the learning curve. It was difficult, but I loved it, and learned a great deal from the experience. I remember one client, with Alzheimer’s,  was always at the “World’s Fair”. I spent hours walking in circles with her.

My mother, Carol, and I decided we could take better care of people establishing our own home. Carol was able to purchase a house and we worked together for 6 years.
