Hello, my name is Tina Taylor and I was born in Prescott Arizona where I met my husband, Chris. After Chris graduated from college. We moved a few times for different jobs, Southern California, Oregon, then back to Arizona where we had our first son Jacob.

In October 1994 we moved to Washington where I worked at a car dealership and Chris started a remodeling business. Two months after I started my job Jacob got the chickenpox. I had to leave work to pick him up from daycare. The next day the dealership fired me without explanation, though they had recently found out I was pregnant.

Being pregnant, without a job, or benefits, I went to work for my aunt as a caregiver. My mother was the manager and caregiver at the adult family home.

This was my first experience caring for the elderly. Changing briefs, giving showers, shaving, and comforting clients, with dementia, was quite the learning curve. It was difficult, but I loved it, and learned a great deal from the experience. I remember one client, with Alzheimer’s,  was always at the “World’s Fair”. I spent hours walking in circles with her.

My mother, Carol, and I decided we could take better care of people establishing our own home. Carol was able to purchase a house and we worked together for 6 years.

After our second son, Brian, was born. Chris and I bought a duplex in Everett, Washington. We lived on the top floor and my sister, Shanna, lived below.

One day at Home Depot Chris mentioned we should turn our home into an adult family home. So, it began.

We moved downstairs after my sister left and completely remodeled the top floor (street level portion) of the duplex. It took a year to replace all the electrical, plumbing, vault the ceilings and changing all aspects of the home to accommodate handicapped and elderly clients.

We started with 3 bedrooms and had 2 people move in the first day. Chris had to go out and buy dishes and other amenities because I could not leave work.

In 2005 Chris  added  1200 square feet to the house that included two bedrooms with bathrooms, another bedroom, shower room & atrium .

I love caring for the residents in our home. I consider my care to be very personal with the clients and their families. That is why I own one home that I can focus on. Our home is our clients home; where I  live and work, keeping the highest standards and an  excellent reputation.
